Adventure and art are sure to see a "hike" in numbers in 2018! I wanted to share my Artsy Adventure goals with you. Five Artsy Adventure Goals!1. Take a sketchbook with me everywhere. In Summer 2017 I took my sketch book on a hike in Utah with my friend and we both spent time painting and drawing what we saw. When we sat down to draw & paint we got to sit and take in each part of the view. Since we sat and enjoyed the view I can still see exactly where the rock fractures, the trees spring to life, and the lake reflects the majestic mountain! 2. Have FUN with Experimentation. In December of 2015 I was working on creating tree rings with embroidery. I didn't see a fast return in response from viewers and so I got discouraged on experimentation. After observing several other artists it is very common to get into a rut and create the same piece of art with a different scenery. This year in 2017 I want to feel free from creating what people expect and create new and exciting ideas! So this year I want to have FUN with experimentation with no expectations of people liking my end result. 3. Be more Active! Now all my artist friends will agree that being an artist is a hard job. You aren't just an artist but also your own business owner which includes all the not fun stuff. When I started focusing on getting my art out to the public I lost sight of my active side that stays fit and healthy. I used to train for marathons, rock climb obsessively, and get on my road and/or mountain bike weekly. Everyone says it but this year I want to focus on getting more fit and I plan to do that by riding my bike to work, running after work, and rock climbing on the weekends. I'm ready for a healthy 2018 so that I can create art for a longer life span! 4. Create more Holiday Art! I recently started creating more Holiday Art to sell on my Etsy. I LOVE it! It is one more way to celebrate each part of the year and have fun with it. Comment below which holiday you would love to create or see me create! 5. Continue to use my art for good! Through my art in 2017 I was able to donate art, money & time to the following organizations:
Finally, to those who have followed my art in 2017 I must give you a BIG Thank you! You expressing to me how it makes you happy encourages me to continue creating. THANK YOU SO MUCH! P.S. I want to hear your goals with your comments below!
